If we were to describe a new god in one word, it would be “change.” The new Genesis is gone. Darkseid is dead. Hope appears to have been lost, but with the help of Superman and Earth, there seems to be still hope. In New Gods #8, the character lowers his hair and resets while the enemy prepares for another attack.
The new Gods #8 begins with Iyama before he becomes the High Father. We witness the loss of his wife Avia and the long walk to become his highfather. The words are poetic, and the stories are inherently mythical. It’s grand, but more sturdy and quiet than the previous issue. This scene rests on the whole problem, as Highfather is mentally in a bad sense, but there is still hope in the final moments of the problem.
This issue is primarily about resets. The new gods know their new locations and new statuses. Things are very miserable, but many are still going on and hope for a future. This is tied to their kids, but Superman adds a bit of old-fashioned American hope. The action is limited, but there are plenty of character moments as the characters break the pan in one scene.

There are several actions that Terrific will be involved. The action is pretty quick, but with impressive use of power, changing the gun worth checking out. The villain side also earns page time, setting the stage for the upcoming battle.
The problem with the clever writer Ram V and artist Evan Kagle Bookend Highfather makes more about him than the ingress and out of villains and heroes. He carves this issue firmly into the turning point of the new gods, and raises it in the grand scheme of things. The art of Cagle on the last two pages is beautiful – not only sad, but fun. It makes more of a question about how we should never give up.
New Gods #8 is a beautifully crafted, emotionally resonating chapter that slows down the pace to explore sadness, legacy and perseverance. With moving artwork and a highfather-centered story, it reminds us that hope can still take root, even in despair.
