Last week, Marvel made its first announcement about the age of revelation, an alternative future created by the Heir’s Apocalypse Revelation (formerly Doug Ramsey). This latest crossover bullying hinted at a world that was part of the apocalypse and part of the future past. Again, the X-Men must struggle through the world of nightmares before they find a way to set things up correctly. Now, the next nightmare future and alternative reality find Marvel’s hilarious mutants.
Perhaps the most interesting part of that bullying was the title of the book being held in this new world. Marvel releases the first of many overviews and creative teams. Even the mastermind Jed Mackay will tackle the incredible X-Men, but the name that will raise most people’s ears is Jonathan Hickman. Hickman famously revives the X-Men, tells Krakoa’s fans of favourite ages, and appears to be doing something similar in the Imperial Mini Series. He hasn’t written X-Men stories since the Inferno Mini series, so his return to the book, co-written long shots with his successor Gerry Duggan, is sure to be a big deal.
However, Hickman and Mackay are not the only draws of the event. This first announcement promises creators such as Erica Schultz, Jesus Merino, Ryan North, Mahmoud Aslar and Al Ewing in the first line of the book. Furthermore, the summary of the event suggests that a rather fascinating world is reminiscent of. All of these announcements certainly make the event even more fascinating. The age of revelation begins in October, but Marvel has promised a more relevant announcement to come out of San Diego Comic Con. We will certainly continue to report that it will be one of the biggest events to hit Marvel for a while. For now, check out these initial overviews and creative teams.
