Get ready to spin your engine: legendary stuntman Evel Kuniebell jumps into his first full-length comic series courtesy of a half-evil comic. Title of Evel Knievel: The Last Gladiator, the series comes from an All-Star creative team, including Ringo-winning author Rylend Grant (The Jump, The PeaceKeepers), Artist Dave Acosta (Terrorwar, Elvira), Letterer HDE, and editor Re Nelson.
This series is currently in advance on Kickstarter. Please see here for the pre-boot page.
Set during Kuniebell’s wild lead to the infamous Caesars Palace Fountain Jump, the story pits America’s most iconic Daredevil against a ruthless outlaw biker gang who is trying to put muscle in the rise of his fame. Below are some high octane action thrillers, some modern westerns.
“Ebel is a folk hero in the purest sense,” says Grant. “We’re leaning against it. He’s our gunslinger on a steel horse. He solves mysteries, throws punches, makes insane jumps, and witnesses local bombs.”
The series is fictional, but is based on real events. The first arc begins with a crash that defines Evel’s career in Vegas, representing his meteor rise. Readers will also witness his headline-making attitude at the Cow Palace, a million-dollar bash in Butte, Montana, and a series of stunts that only men like Ever Niebel can dream of.
For fans who want to learn more, Half Evil Comic hosts the final Gladiator panel of San Diego Comic-Con. It features San Diego Comic-Con’s final gladiator panel, editor Evel’s son, brand manager Kelly Niebelle, and Joe Pennington, co-founder of the Evel Niebell Museum. It’s certainly about riding the wild. More details can be found here.
