In Imperial Guardian, Captains Marvel, Gamora, and Dark Hawk gather together as new universe-burning super teams to take on the many threats that emerge from the intensity of the starry sky. As the events of the Imperial are exploded in a deadly way, the SuperSkrull find themselves at the heart of the inflammatory plan, bringing the results the whole universe felt! But he is not the only superpower looking for answers. No hunting to avoid disasters before the order of the galaxy is lost forever!
Abnett, one of the architects of space Marvel comics in the late 2000s (who directly inspired James Gunn’s Galaxy films), said, “It’s great to tell the story of the universe as part of an empire event. The epic scale, character-driven, drama-packed epics make this a pretty ride, and I don’t think the Guardian is the same again.
The book marks the first comics starring The Guardian and Captain Marvel since their respective Ongos (vol. 7 written by Colin Kelly, Jackson Lantz, Kev Walker, and Vol 11, Vol. 11, Alyssa Wong). Cosmic Ghost Rider last found the 5th issue series in 2023 by Stephanie Phillips, Joe An Kabal and Giu Villa Nova.
The comic will be released on October 1st. Meanwhile, Imperial #2 (4) will be released on Wednesday, July 16th, and Imperial War: Black Panther (by Hickman, Victor Laval and Kafuru) will begin five announced one-shots on August 20th. Three other installments, Planet Shehark, Exile, Nova-Centurion (by Hickman by Philips & Emilio Laiso, Steve Fox & Francesco Manna, and Jed MacKay & Matteo De Lafonte, respectively) arrive on August 27th, September 3rd, and SEP. 10th, respectively.
