PC: Ollie Kaplan
Set along four major planetary systems, this story follows Amaterasu, the immortal emperor of the Grease Kingdom to rule the Joker system, and his bride’s isolation. The manga originally debuted in Newtype magazines in 1986, and was adopted in Yamazaki River’s animated film in 1989.
In 2013, The Lore was modified to suit Nagano’s 2012 film Gothicmade, renamed the Mortar Head (MH) and Fatima to Auto Flower (AF) by Gothicmade (GTM).
Nagano, a well-known anime designer known for his work in Heavy Metal L-Geim and Mobile Suit Z Gundam, has serialized five-star stories for nearly 40 years. As of 2018, there are over 8.5 million printed manga.
The English version was previously published by Toyspress, co-founded by Nagano, and covers Japanese volumes 1-10 in 26 translated volumes. However, volume 11 and beyond have never been released in English.
