Deathgasm, a 2015 horror comedy directed by Jason Howden, became a cult hit in the horror movie scene, balancing gore with scary people, illuminating humor and charming characters. Produced in New Zealand, it follows the heavy metal antics of the nominal heavy metal band, which acquires seemingly ancient sheet music and mistakenly summons the existence of a demon known as the “blind one.” Premiering at the South by Southwest Festival in 2015, the film stars Milo Cowthorne, James Blake, Kimberly Crossman, Sam Berkeley and Daniel Creswell. The beat-off beat blend of comedy and violence has acquired it to a healthy, loving fanbase, and for the past decade, Howden has been widely debating about making a sequel. Years later, the sequel will finally come to fruition, but Deathgasm II: Goremageddon! Ahead of the release of Bit Bot Media continues its Deathgasm story. In collaboration with director Jason Howden, Bit Bot is creating an all-new graphic novel, Deathgasm 1.5: Director’s Cut. Our beat is pleased to reveal an exclusive preview of this graphic novel.

Deathgasm 1.5: In the director’s cut, our headbanging heroes Brody and Medina bumped into metal stages, shredding not only guitars, but vampires, demons and all sorts of evil. Their most lethal battles await them clash with a fanatic religious cult, rising from the shadows in an 80-page bloody massacre. In this prelude to an upcoming sequel, only true metalheads can fight to save the town of Greypoint. The 80-page graphic novel, based on the story of author/creator/director Jason Howden (Desgum, Guns Akinbo), is written by Peter Bune (Squat Watch), illustrated by Industrias Lamonicana (Fierro), featuring the colours of Zack Atkinson (Firscape, Starrecke). The book includes contributions from authors Michael Schwartz (Armorned, Zombie Town) and Joshua Viola (True followers, Kane’s Legacy: Soul Reaver), cover art by Skinner (Skin Crawl magazine), Preston Acevedo (Extract), Matthew Rayleen (Becky’s Russ)

Graphic novels are available in four editions.

Standard Digital Edition – An 80-page graphic novel featuring main cover art by Skinner. Standard Hardcover Edition – An 80-page graphic novel featuring main cover art by Skinner. Limited Hardcover Edition (250) – An 80-page graphic novel featuring variant covers by Matthew Therrien. Deluxe Signed Edition of Slipcase – an 80-page signed graphic novel featuring exclusive NSFW variant covers by Preston Asevedo, and your name is included in the Kickstarter Credits section of the book.

Additional items available from Kickstarter’s back include Blu-ray from the 2015 film, a copy of the brand new Deathgasm video game, decorative masks, and even a signed guitar. Howden said this about the graphic novel Genesis.

Between the events of Deathgasm 1 and Deathgasm 2 there was a story I needed to tell. The story was very visually epic, very aggressive, aggressive, and unleashed, and could not be filmed without watering. Instead, it’s now the graphic novel: Deathgasm 1.5. We’re happy to see fans as Brody and Medina pounding demons and metal riffs, meeting old peers, and encountering ageless evils lurking in the shadows of heavy metal-hating churches!

An exclusive preview of the graphic novel can be seen below, and Kickstarter is available for immediate return.
