Mr. Miracle Adult Animation Series has been announced

Earlier this year, DC Studios announced many new animation projects, including Jessica Cruz and My Adventures at Starfire. The news was very well received from DC Animation fans, who were wondering what the future of DC animation fare would have been, especially now that the original animated film had its course. Today, Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios have released Greenlight, based on 12 highly acclaimed and Eisner Award-winning comic books by author Tom King and artist Mitch Jerad. Additionally, Tom King will serve as executive producer and showrunner.

This marks King’s first animation project, but he is unfamiliar with DC Studios. In fact, he is one of the leading architects adopted by co-head of DC Studios James Gunn, and is currently involved in the upcoming Lantern Live Action series.

Official description:

The prison cannot hold him. Trap cannot contain him. He is Scott Free, a world-renowned celebrity sensation known as Mr. Miracle, and he is the best escape artist he has ever lived in. But can he pull away from the ultimate trick and escape death itself?

Something is horribly wrong in the perfect life that Scott and his warrior wife Big Barda have built for them on Earth. With the rage of war between the Apocalypse and the New Genesis, Scott’s cruel adoptive parents, Darkseid, appears to have finally captured the anti-life equation.

As the heaps of remains on either side grow taller and higher, only Mr. Miracle can stop the genocide and restore peace. But the horrifying power of the anti-life equation, already at work in his own mind, may distort his reality, expose his long buried pain, and crush the fragile happiness he finds along with the woman he loves.

and Scott Free’s Odyssey of Scott Free, Mr. Miracle: A miserable, cheerful, heartbreaking journey across ordinary, jolly, extraordinary pitfalls as the Devil-raised Child of God tries to save his family, the world, and perhaps himself.
