Earlier this year, DC Studios announced many new animation projects, including Jessica Cruz and My Adventures at Starfire. The news was very well received from DC Animation fans, who were wondering what the future of DC animation fare would have been, especially now that the original animated film had its course. Today, Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios have released Greenlight, based on 12 highly acclaimed and Eisner Award-winning comic books by author Tom King and artist Mitch Jerad. Additionally, Tom King will serve as executive producer and showrunner.
This marks King’s first animation project, but he is unfamiliar with DC Studios. In fact, he is one of the leading architects adopted by co-head of DC Studios James Gunn, and is currently involved in the upcoming Lantern Live Action series.
