Marvel Comics has been teased since yesterday, with Xavier and Nova taking an Empire one-shot, but today we have more details. Imperial War: Exiles and Imperial War: Nova Centurion, Oneshot, arrives in September and promises to be the basis for a new era of intergalactic storytelling. All in all, She-Hulk and Black Panther also have five one-shots in focus.
Imperial War: The exiles are by writer Steve Fox (Dark X-Men) and artist Francesco Mana (M’s huge-sized house home), and Professor X follows up on his departure from Earth to bring together a team of new heroes to protect his daughter, the recently-deposited Empress Xandra. Imperial War: Nova Centurion will take the action with writer Jed Mackay (X-Men, Avengers) along with artist Matteo Della Fonte (Bad Guys One the Green Goblin) to helm the Galaxy’s most immovable defender.
“Mutantkind has been peering into the stars since the 1970s, so there was no way to rule out X-Killieu from the Imperial Master Plan,” Foxe shared. “Watching Jonathan builds this intergalactic plot is a masterclass in storytelling of its own, and he built the launch pad to tell some of the biggest stories possible for us all on this new universe stage.”
Fox said, “This is a truly meaningful exile crew. The royal, aliens, villains, robots and furry ragtag bands are thrust together under dire circumstances. First and foremost, Francesco’s manna is knocking it out of the galaxy.
Xandarian Worldmind will be lost forever…unless Rich Rider gets the credits he needs to keep it alive in the Imperial War: Nova – Centurion! Therefore, Nova must serve the highest bidder. I’ll take my helmet and travel!
“I’m extremely excited to take on the human rocket and explore the new space stage defined by Imperial!” Mackay shared. “The great galactic civilization is moving towards a whole new collaboration, and I am really looking forward to seeing where the final Nova Legion fits when the work is assembled.”
“Ricci is really funny to me,” Mackay continued. “For much of his history, he is defined as a “new child” from his Spider-Man-esque origins to his days with new warriors. Now they are the last standard bearer of the old order, and already look like it was in the old days.

New York, New York – June 11, 2025 – Last week, Imperial, Last week’s Empire, and the fourth event series by author Jonathan Hickman and superstar artists Ivan Coero and Federico Vicentini have launched a close-to-Galaxy conflict set to boldly transform the Marvel Universe’s universe’s landscape. The highly anticipated series serves as the basis for a new era of intergalactic storytelling, starting with one-shots of five Imperial Wars that spotlight individual characters and groups as they navigate amazing development and explosive conflicts. The first two Imperial War One-Shots, Imperial War: She Hulk and Imperial War: Black Panther, was announced last month and will hit the stands in August. Today, fans can learn about the next two Imperial War One-Shots, Imperial War: Asylum and Imperial War: Nova Centurion, arriving in September.
The Five Imperial War One-Shots represent important chapters in the comprehensive Imperial story, each co-written by event architect Jonathan Hickman. Imperial War: The exiles by acclaimed author Steve Fox (Dark X-Men) and superstar artist Francesco Manna (Home of a Huge-Size House), follow up on Professor X’s departure from Earth, as the founders of the X-Men bring together a new team of heroes to protect their daughter. Imperial War: Nova – Centurion sees the helm of the Galaxy’s most immovable defender, with the hit Marvel writer Jed Mackay (X-Men, Avengers) joining in the action along with rising artist Matteodella Fontte (Bad Guy: Bringing the Green Goblins).
A coup at home put Sir Majestrix Xandra in danger and tore her from the throne of the Imperial War: the exile. Her only hope for survival lies in a disparaged group of rebels led by her father, Professor Charles Xavier and her resurrected mother, Lilandra! However, when faced with the incredible powers of the Shiar Imperial Guard, the only way to survive is to run!
Regarding the team’s roster, Fox explained: “This is a crew of exiles in the true sense of the word. The royals, aliens, villains, robots and furry ragtag bands charge together under miserable circumstances. First and foremost, there is a breakneck space chase story, with Francesco’s manna knocking it out of the galaxy.
