During his comic career, author Jason Aaron became known for his dark, gritty story sensibilities. So, when Marvel announced that he would write a one-shot of his uncle Scrouge, we can imagine the surprise of readers. Despite the seeming contradiction, Aaron is an abusive fan of the character, and the one-shot was a smash hit. So, when it was announced last week on D23.com, it was no surprise that Aaron would come back to create a new uncle’s Scrouge project. However, it has been upgraded to the 4th Limited Series, rather than a simple one-shot.
Arrived this August, Uncle Scrooge: The Earth’s biggest duck “The planet was conquered by an alien invader known as the appraiser. His own mind is fighting to preserve his most precious memories.”
Participating in Aaron is an All-Star Art Team, including Giuseppe Camuncoli, Mahmud Asrar and Ciro Cangialosi. Similarly, this issue features cover art by some of the best artists in the business.
In an official press release, Aaron teased this new uncle’s Scrouge epic
“Scrooge McDuck is one of the greatest heroes in cartoon history. “It was a thrill to write him on the pages of Uncle Scrooge and Infinity Dime in order to travel through multi-universe. With this new series, we knew that we had to incorporate more Marvel artists into the mix, not only to incorporate more Marvel artists into the mix, but also to bring more Marvel artists into the most epic tales of his career, and to bring more Marvel artists into the adventure life.”
