Dynamite Entertainment revealed that a new graphic novel is on the verge of being adapted to Shea Ernshaw’s novel, The Nightmare Before Christmas: Long Live the Pumpkin Queen. This story is edited by Liz Marsham with art and Alessio Petilo.
“I really enjoyed the opportunity to tackle this compelling story,” author Liz Marsham said. “Sia Ernshaw wrote everything I needed: a compelling story about the iconic characters I’ve loved as a fan for decades, an exciting mix of the environments we know, and a gorgeously written new landscape, seductive action, a fantastical, deeply trustworthy emotional journey, and of course, the art team did an incredible job bringing it all back to life.”
So, what do you think?
Jack and Sally look like the perfect couple, but everything goes wrong in the colorful houses of Halloween town! When the graphic novel begins, after escapes Dr. Finkelstein’s dominant clutch and marries Jack, her true love, Sally, is officially the Queen of the Pumpkins. Just as she loves her skeletal husband and close friends, the imposing public spotlight and weight of her new royal responsibility feels like a new form of captivity.
When Sally and the trustworthy Ghost Dog Zero discover a hidden doorway leading to a previously unknown dream town, everything is unlocked and the spool is out of control. As the world clashes, the resulting cascade of calamities puts her new position as the pumpkin queen and the foundations of her world at risk!
To save her beloved house and find her place and comfort in it, Sally must summon all the strength in her seams – help with zero – or else the future could become a nightmare without Halloween!
