Today, Marvel Comics revealed the very long-awaited whole new run of all-time Captain America #1 covers of the charming Chipz Darski and Valerio City. The series will begin on July 2nd.

Zdarsky told Newsarama. Our first arc may be set in the past, but it will reveal some huge things that will affect the books in the future. ”

Upcoming runs begin with an adventure set just before Steve Rogers comes out of the frozen suspend animation and he joins the Avengers. Returning to this pivotal moment in Marvel comic history, developments uncover forever changing how the world sees Captain America’s heritage. Following this game-changing arc, the series will shift to current day, with Captain America dealing with new threats associated with this early, secret conflict.

Please see the cover below.

New York, New York – May 28, 2025 – From the ice to the fire! Eisner nominated author Chip Zudarski (Dardevil) and superstar artist Valerio City (The Avengers) will launch a whole new run for Captain America this July.

The main cover comes from acclaimed artist Ben Harvey, while the variant cover comes from the series’ artist City. The series will feature a new suit with superstar artists Frank Miller and Pablo Villalobos, who will feature a design variant cover. Series writer Chip Zdarsky also offers his own bold variant covers.

Plus, get a hidden gem cover featuring iconic artwork by John Lomitas Sr. from Marvel’s Bicentennial Calendar in 1976, and a hidden gem cover featuring classic art recreation in the 250th homage variant cover. Hidden gem variant covers by John Romita Jr. are also available. Plus, Nick Bradshaw is one of the eye-catching retro vision covers of the moon, drawing inspiration from a bygone era. And the latest Marvel Rivals variant cover by Netease Games shines a spotlight on the hit game’s Captain America design artwork.

While Captain America was sleeping in the ice, the world changed – better, even worse. Steve Rogers awakens to the reality in which battles are fought in the shadows through secrets and secret fuges, and the villains are not so easy to identify. When a fledgling dictator named Victor von Doom conquer Latveria, Steve faces a critical decision: adapting to a new kind of war, or will he make his own path? And what does the choices he makes in the past mean for his future? Experience the untold story of Captain America’s first encounter with Doctor Doom!

Zdarsky spoke to Newsarama in a recent interview. “I have the same feelings as when I first started Daredevil. Each issue felt incredibly special. Our first arc may be set in the past, but it will reveal some huge things that will affect the books that will come.”
