Welcome to another creepy edition of X-Men on Monday at X-Fans, AIPT!

After Deadpool & Wolverine made more than $1 billion at the international box office, it was no surprise that we could see some new comics featuring this extremely violent, strange couple. And you have it! However, the upcoming limited series will only feature Deadpool, Wolverine and their daughters! Of course, we’re talking about No. 3 Wolverine & Deadpool, which began on July 2, 2025 and brought together Logan, Laura Kinney, Wade Wilson and Ellie Camacho.

Supporting these deadly families is current Deadpool author Cody Ziggler. He’s here to tell us what we can expect on the Wolverine and Deadpool pages. Let’s see what he has to say.

AIPT: Welcome to X-Men Monday and Cody! This is my first time dropping by a column, so I was wondering if I could share my first X-Men experience as a fan.

Cody Ziglar: Like most people of my age, I think I was the first to discover the male X through the 90s Fox Animation series. I have a clear memory of the theme songs and sentinels, and are completely floored by them! There are a few SNES and Genesis video games, and I feel like I’ve been hooked around the same time frame. Then when the X-Men vs. Street Fighter came out, I was totally in!

AIPT: For X-Fans who haven’t read Deadpool Run, what do you need to know to get into Wolverines & Deadpools #1? Can someone jump in right away?

Cody: I made it, so if you haven’t caught up with my deadpool, it should be pretty easy to jump straight away. But to catch people, the only thing you really need to know is Wade has his daughter Ellie Camacho who has the powers like him, and they run the boutique mercenary business for most of the run!

AIPT: What are the elevator pitches for the Wolverine and the Deadpools?

Cody: Superhero play day between two girls from opposite sides of the moral spectrum.

Aipt: X-Fan Pool’s majestic and incredible fans, from reading Deadpool as a comic book fan to writing for Deadpool.

Cody: It was so surreal to say the least! Deadpool was the first character I’d read everything they reveal. And I mean everything from random one-shots to this Batman/Superman story where Slade Wilson undoubtedly stumbles upon Wade Wilson.

So when I was first offered a job, I was very nervous, but after a breathing exercise I settled down and jumped in quickly!

aipt:x-fan cosmicgeorge wants to know what you like most about Wolverine and Deadpool. (And I don’t know which Wolverine and Deadpool Cosmik George mentions, so let’s try using all four!)

Cody: So, Logan is just one of the classic Marvel characters, so it’s hard to pinpoint one reason why I love him so much! For this story, he looked like the perfect person to bounce off Wade, and their history was so fun and deep that it just looked natural!

Regarding Wade – So what do you like about an annoying non-disbanded man who does his best to raise his daughter?

Ellie is one of my favorite new characters. She’s smart, impulsive, and a bit of a thing, if you think her father isn’t doing the right thing/playing right, then definitely not on top of her feet down. I see many of the same qualities in Laura, but she has experience, the only way to get into this “sister/sister” situation.

AIPT: Well, in that memo, Logan and Wade have an established relationship, but what can readers expect from the dynamics of Laura and Ellie?

Cody: There’s a bit of a standoff at first, and mostly light teasing, but they settle in mutual respect and more sisterly places towards the end.

AIPT: Temu’s X-Fan Weapon X is looking forward to seeing if you can expect a look from Gabby in this limited series.

Cody: Gabby’s presence will definitely feel, but I can’t say exactly how it doesn’t ruin it.

aipt: x-fan batusu wants to know what you can tell us about the villains and villains that Wolverine and Deadpool face. Are there any new enemies?

Cody: Again, I don’t want to ruin anything, but that includes Shadow King and some classic Deadpool/Marvel villains.

AIPT: In terms of art, I continue to work with Rogea Antonio. What can readers expect from the visuals of this limited series?

Cody: Rogê is a lucky incredible artist who alongside Andrea Di Vito has been able to collaborate on most of Deadpool Run. Roge draws some of the coolest (and funny) things in this mini. I’m very excited to see what we cooked.

AIPT: Finally, in honor of Father’s Day in a few weeks, pretend that Laura and Ellie are here to you to plan their advice. What do you think Logan and Wade’s ideal father’s days are?

Cody: Logan probably doesn’t just drink beer in the Canadian wilderness and carve wood with Laura. Wade wants to schedule an Arts and Craft Day with Ellie, Princess and Taskmaster.

AIPT: I think Wade sounds more fun. But on that note – thank you for stopping by X-Men Monday and Cody!

X-Fans, Wolverines & Deadpools #1 will be released on July 2, 2025. This shows an exclusive first look at some of the unresolved pages of that issue, thanks to Penciler and Inker Rogê Antônio.
