Heavy Metal Magazine is back at the comic stand this week. With a new issue of FanFaklite Magazine, the English debuts of Janevsky’s Sixella and The Last Roots will be appearing.

In Wednesday’s new issue of Heavy Metal #1, the story comes from Frank Forte, Chris Thompson, Michael Conrad, Iliad Kiliagis and Simon Bowland. One more interesting story is the final roots by Sixella and French comic artist Janevsky. The sci-fi/cyberpunk themed story, first released in 2020, will be translated into English for the first time in Heavy Metal #1.

Check out Greg Hildenbrandt’s main cover art for Heavy Metal #1 and text solicitation for the issues below. Below that, the beat has a five-page preview of Six-Error and the Last Roots.

Heavy Metal #1 2025

“Heavy Metal Magazine is Back! Millstone & Cyb is the Debut of Mercergenary, a classic from Vicente Segrelles, entitled “Poor Monsters” by Antonie Seguras. The ultimate Tarakian warriors Tarna and John Lepion take advantage of the power of their own rich, ridiculous characters, writing Tarna’s adventures with Anna Morozova’s art. It also features a legendary one-shot of Cold Dead War (B-17) by Craig Wilson, Grimaldi by Keron Grant, and Terna by Joseph Michael Linner. Fernando Danino brings a new cyberpunk short. Leicester, that old feeling. The return of the classic will strip buses by Paul Kirchner and buses by John Workman in June 2050. Foresightful creators David Quinn and Tim Viville offer transcendence. Writer/artist Dwayne Harris gives us a fantasy story they’ve dug deep. Jim Rugg reveals Kecksburg UFOs, and Jon Wayshak writes and draws a horror short entitled Cobots. Plus, interviews, related documents, prose fiction and more! ”

Readers can check out the whole new story of Heavy Metal #1, which will arrive at the comic shop starting Wednesday. The monthly cargo will be released on May 7th, with a global newsstand coming on May 13th.
