Fletcher Hunks’ Cult Hero Stardust is back with a fun family comic

Stardust the Super Wizard appears in Cosmic Lion Productions’ Family Fun Comic #18, so one of the comic’s most iconic golden age heroes is active.

He debuted in 1939 with Fantiction Comics #1 by Fletcher Hanks from Fox Feature Syndicate. Stardust The Super Wizard starred in a sci-fi adventure about a special man who sailed through the Cosmos before taking on the crime. Though it was an obscure comic at the time, over the years, Hanks has gained fame as one of the most unusual comic creators of the era.

Now Stardust pays homage to the odd weirdness of the originals of the fundamentally modern (and violent!) characters with the golden age original with his much-anticipated comeback in the fun comic #18 of James and John Court.

Check out our exclusive preview of the comics awaiting stardust and the beat of bloody adventures.

This spring, Super Wizard will return to the comics courtesy of the James and John Court brothers and publisher Cosmic Lion Productions. Created by Fletcher Hanks in 1939, the Golden Age hero will once again fight evil with oversized issues by the Court brothers who capture the oddities of the original strip and even more unknown, higher distortions and violence. Numbered to follow Stardust’s original 17 installments, Family Fun Comics #18 adds new elements to the hero mythology while incorporating classic components of Hanks Material. It’s a love letter to a bygone era of superheroes filled with action, excitement and brilliantly unpredictable strangeness.

“The Golden Age superhero comics were wild, energetic, colorful, and violent adventures,” says Coats Brothers. “Everything can be done, but it happened often. We love the spirit of storytelling in books that we really didn’t know what would happen on the next page, and that’s the spirit we tried to put in this cartoon.

“Our Stardust distortion reflects the distortion of his quest for justice. He interacts with his world through the strange lens of a mateless Superman who mixes with aliens, mutants and monsters. The science of Stardust exceeds our understanding. Mankind.”

Family Fun Comics #18 is currently available for pre-order through Cosmic Lion Productions.
