Image Comics imprint Syzygy Publishing is a new anthology series, Dread the Hall H.

From Jordan Hart (Ripple Effect) and Chris Liall (Zombies vs. Robot), Hall H is set to highlight the horror and horror of the comic convention. Dread the Hall H features artists Nelson Daniel (It’s easy to die), Piotl Kowalski (Creepshaw), Jimmy Kukazi (Find Me) and Chris Anderson (Heavy Metal). One question features cover art by Mario Wolf, Daniel and Hart.

It’s comic convention season! And a better way to celebrate the comic’s shortcomings than this lengthy anthology filled with scam-related horror stories! Last year, they skewered Christmas on the Dread the Hall page. And now, authors Chris Ryal and Jordan Hart bring together artists Nelson Daniel, Piotl Kowalski, Jimmy Kukazi and Chris Anderson, bringing a terrifying convention story! Nelson Daniel’s convention line wraparound cover by Maria Wolf, and the “combadge” incentive cover by Jordan Hart! A perfect and totally terrifying comic to read while waiting to enter that massive convention hall!

“The comic book convention I attended as a child was in a cigarette-covered party room at a bowling alley in Milwaukee,” said co-creator and author Jordan Hart. “I finally got to San Diego right after I took a picture of my university and when I finally joined San Diego, I felt like Valhalla. Manga. Movies. Toys, video games. Treasures, treasures. Courses of obstacles. There are endless things to these big day customs. I chase them.”

“I’ve never liked San Diego cartoon conventions since 1997, and I’ve also had some experience providing the perfect feed for comics like Hall H’s horror.” “This comic is an absolute love letter to convention culture, a fun way to drive away the many demons we’ve accumulated while participating in these vast and overwhelming events, all brought to life in beautiful and vivid ways through the four stories presented in this issue.”

Dread the Hall H#1 arrived at the Comic Bookstore on July 23, 2025 and is available for pre-order now!
