Top Cow Productions, Inc. and Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. After signing a license agreement with Lazarus Rising Games (LRG) announced today that it has signed a new IP deal with Skybound Entertainment and Skybound to include it in the overwhelming revival of the collection card game.

As most people know, Skybound is invincible with so many notable traits, especially the Walking Dead. Fans can expect the characters to be included in the roster.

Complete press release below:

By signing a license agreement with Skybound Entertainment, Lazarus Rising Games (LRG) continues to expand its prominent IPs to revive the overwhelming power of the legendary collectible card game of the 1990s.

The deal brings Skybound to the overwhelming universe from 2026, featuring Skybound’s robust library of IPs, especially the invincible Walking Dead original. The roster that will be participating in the Overpower deck includes characters such as Invincible, Omni-Man, Atom Eve, and Battle Beast, as well as favorites from Walking Dead fans such as Rick Grimes, Michonne, Negan, and Maggie.

Adding Skybound Entertainment characters and images is available at Top Cow Productions, Inc. and Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. Following on from a recent licensing agreement. Top Cow Witch Blow, Darkness, Cyberforce and Burrough’s iconic Tarzan of the Apes® and John Carter of Mars® will be in 2025.

“Owners and longtime players overwhelmingly will ensure we fully understand our responsibility to both legacy and new fans of the game and continue to grow in all the right directions. This includes new content and IP enhancements.” “Working alongside Skybound Entertainment is one of our first goals and we look forward to seeing Union benefit our fans all at once.

“We love partnering with companies that are genuine fans of IP,” added Garima Sharma, vice president of Skybound’s licensing and partnerships. “Overpower has been a beloved game for a long time. We are excited to see the invincible, Walking Dead branded products hit the shelves soon.

Retailers will begin carrying new overpowered products to the shelves in mid-April 2025. This presents original artwork from today’s best artists in the comics and illustration industry, including Jerry, Jim Chong, Raymond Gay, Philip Tan, and William Santos. Overpower is available through the US ACD and GTS distributions, but universal distributions promote delivery in Canada.

Additionally, LRG has established an advisory committee that already features Ron Perazza, one of the original developers of the 1990s games, and Paul Bazakas, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at GTS Distribution.

In collaboration with Carde.io, LRG recently launched its Player Portal. It features a card library of upcoming Edgar Rice Burrows sets, fully assembled deck builders, National ELO rankings, event finder and reward shop. Interested players can access/join the Player Portal at www.overpower.com.

The LRG is also in the final planning stage of a series of major tournaments across North America, highlighted by prize money of over $100,000 and exclusive merchandise. The tournament announcement is approaching. Additionally, LRG continues to showcase its overwhelming power at the national conventions and events, particularly at the highly trafficked interactive booth at 2024 New York Comic Con, and as part of the helpful and entertaining panel at Wondercon 2025 in Anaheim. LRG strategized a prominent presence at Origins Game Fair in June 2025, with plans to showcase its overwhelming power at key games and pop culture conventions throughout the year. For the past nine months, LRG has also been running a new side of the game and a soft rollout of cards, including two sets that sold out quickly.

The core ownership of Lazarus Rising Games, formerly known as BMG & Associates, consists of a group of successful professionals who played young people with excessive force and continues to this day. Their passion for the game is the driving force behind the company, and their experience ensures the game’s reliability towards its roots, while relentlessly seeking new assets to inject the game’s revival. As the collectible card game market continues to blossom again, the LRG team has sought to put pressure on the heart of its revival by appealing to the game’s loyal fans and new players of the future.
