#4: Night #14
You might like the S1 above the S1 (or vice versa), but you can’t deny that the night is being built in such a way that it feels organic, thoughtful and undeniable. I can’t wait for #15 to see how this crazy, beautiful beast shapeshifts further in front of our eyes.

#3: Doll Parts: A Story Like Love #4
Eventually, she is her own worst enemy, far more cruel than anyone else, and you begin to see more of yourself in her. If you want to read something that transcends the normal horror fare, the abusive lamb bumps into your stomach and heart, picking up this series and diving into Madeleine’s cruel and beautiful world.

#2: Fantastic Four #30
Fantastic Four #30 is a masterclass of depression, loss and sudden, sudden change. North has not only got into the minds of these characters. He was digging deep holes to find their emotional core, making them feel more human than ever.

#1: Absolute Mars Manhunter #1
Absolute Martian Manhunter #1 is not only a standout in DC’s absolute universe, but also a standout in the comics released this year. It doesn’t look, feel or read like any other series. That’s what’s exciting. All I can say to the creative team is to “keep it’s weird.”
