And the team up continues! The Alien Book and IDW combine strategic partnerships. The meaning you can see will allow you to order your brave cartoons under the IDW part of the PRH catalog.

According to the announcement, the alien book receives distribution, marketing, sales analysis and logistics support from IDW, while maintaining creative control of the editorial. Apart from mentioning that IDW is essentially an alien distributor through existing relationships, both DM and bookstore PRH – is scarce in detail. But that makes sense for the aliens who publish a wide range of imports from Europe and South America, cartoons, and perhaps the broader cartoon superhero universe renewals, perhaps the most important for the US market. One of the most recent releases, Classic SF Tale Black Star by Barriero and Giménes, is an example of high-quality materials alien production that benefits from being part of the PRH catalog. And of course Valiant Beyond will work there too.

“We are excited to partner with IDW Publishing to distribute comics, graphic novels and comics directly to the market and bookstores,” said Matias Timarchi, Alien Book Director and Editor-in-Chief. “The IDW team has been incredibly welcome. This partnership allows us to better position the creators’ work while providing access to IDW’s great sales and operations teams. IDW, Valiant, Comic Shops, and all readers and fans.”

“We are excited to work with the aliens,” said Davidi Jonas, CEO of IDW Media Holdings. “Their team led by Matias is extremely supportive, smart, fun, friendly and quick. Aliens have a great creative and dynamic publishing plan. The IDW team hopes that we are great partners and will significantly increase our alien reach, revenue and profitability through aligned interests, entrepreneurial sensibilities and shared services.

Of all the new and unusual partnerships being announced in the wake of the split in diamond comics, this is one of the more interesting, suggesting a direction that could lead to smaller but well-known publishers if they could find a smaller partner. The giant India was the fastest from the gate, but more India can come.
