Marvel Comics has announced a new Star Wars series starring Doctor Ahura, entitled Star Wars: Doctor Ahura – Chaos Agent. Written by Cherish Chen (Rad of Radiation) and depicted by Gabriel Guzman (Star Wars: The Dark Times), the ongoing follows the Chaos archaeologist after the events of Return of the Jedi.

Dr. Afra is passing through the galaxy during the New Republic era! Unauthorized archaeologists must work with Luke Skywalker to track rare artifacts! And what does she do when her tattoos don’t work anymore? !
The book marks Chen’s first in Marvel, Guzman was first marked since Cable ran in 2010, and his first Star Wars comic since Marvel regained the rights. Chen said: “In my humble opinion, there are no more fun characters to write in the Star Wars galaxy. Cooking new adventures for her in this new era, throwing her into increasingly tricky moral baffles, and testing her resolve (along with a familiar face). Gabriel’s incredibly dynamic art.”
Editor Mark Paniccia said, “Fans of Ahura are going to love this unexpected new status quo, where even our amazing doctors struggle to navigate. Her patience is tested, her wisdom is challenged, her ego is hurt!
Chaos Agent #1 was released on June 18th and comes with the main cover of EJ Su and a variant by Sara Pichelli and Karen S. Darboe. In the meantime, the new republic era of Marvel’s Star Wars comics will begin on May 7th with a renewal of the main series by Alex Segura and Phil Notto. Dr. Afra himself turns 10 and will mark the 10th anniversary of his first appearance on March 25th with Darth Vader #3 of Kieron Gillen and Salvador Laryoka.
