Marvel Comics announced today that in June this year it will celebrate LGBTQIA+ creators and characters for the fifth consecutive year in a huge size anthology.

The 2025 issue of Pride will offer readers four thrilling adventures featuring beloved heroes “opposed to hatred and fear,” including characters from the Avengers and X-Men. Showing a diverse range of voices, the 2025 edition brings together creators across the comic book industry, including veteran Marvel writers and promising talent.

This June issue appears to mark the end of Marvel’s voice pride issues created and edited by Angéli que Roché, but it’s exciting to see the 2025 issue highlighting transgender characters from the Marver universe, including Aaron Fischer, Captain America of the Railways, Sera, and Transgender Creators. These trans characters are featured prominently in Cover A and Variant Cover, along with Pride Progress and Transgender Pride Flags. Given the Trump administration’s attacks on trans rights and the fact that many companies (including Marvel Studios’ parent company, Walt Disney Company) have stopped practicing DEI and are removing LGBTQ+ characters and scenes from upcoming releases, it’s encouraging for heroes to choose to unite against the hatred and violence experienced by the queer community in 2025.

According to a press release from Marvel Comics, here are some of the things fans can look forward to at this year’s Pride Special:

From the visionary writer Al Ewing, artist Kei Zama, acclaimed artist, to look at Aaron Fischer, Railroad Captain America, to confront the hatred of despicable and despicable on the railway! The groundbreaking character, Ernie Ross, fights alongside Captain America at the height of World War II in a tale about the past that reconstructs the future from the Hit Avengers Academy Infinity Comics series, author Anthony Oliveira and the superstar team behind artist Pablo Colour. Also, Avengers Academy: Assemble #1, which will arrive in time for Pride Month, will print the first six issues of the Oliveira’s Avengers Academy Infinity Comic series for the first time. Last year’s Pride Special praised the mystical and fateful marriage. Experience a new chapter in the decades-long romance of an iconic mutant couple touching their son’s nightcrawler by author Wyatt Kennedy and artist Bailey Underwood now. In another exciting Marvel comic debut, writer Zoe Tunnel works with rising star Federica Mansin to rob the black cat as super thief finds herself with celestial hero Serra in a dark battle with the devil d’sapayre, a terrifying demon. Others, including interviews and insightful essays.

Check out the stunning variant cover of the issue by Lucas Werneck, Jan Bazaldua, Ernanda Souza, Luciano Vecchio and Rickie Yagawa.
