One day it’s “Zilla Days.” This July, Thor writer Jason Aaron prepares for a moving clash while teaming up with acclaimed artist Aaron Cooder in Godzilla vs. Thor #1, the grand finale of the upcoming issue sixth series, in which Marvel Comics heroes face off against the iconic Godzilla of age!

Godzilla vs. Marvel Universe Adventure will be made by Ryan North and John Romita Jr. next week, Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1. These “Godzilla vs.” stories are just the beginning of a groundbreaking partnership between Marvel Comics and Toho International, the studios that are energizing Godzilla all over the world. The series, just announced today, will peak in July this year with Aaron and Cooder’s Godzilla vs. Thor #1, on sale on July 2, 2025.

“In my office there are about as many toy Kaiju as Mjolnirs are. It really says something, so it makes sense to bring together two of my favorite characters for one Titanic clash,” Jason Aaron shared in a comment included in the press release. “Aaron Cooder and I use Godzilla of all-out attacks from a giant monster, one of the cruel and powerful versions of King of the Monster, so expect a huge battle I think would rival some of the most epic and universe slowdowns I’ve ever written as the God of Thunder.”

Spanning multiple eras of Marvel and Godzilla, these one-shots promise to make for an action-packed encounter. Watch Godzilla win Marvel’s first family during the Silver Age and face the Hulk in the character’s influential ’70s run. And for the ultimate showdown, Godzilla clashes with the mighty Thor, one of the few heroes who can stand up to him!

As Thor has to defend his territory against Godzilla (and perhaps Godzilla’s trans baby from space?), he adorns himself for a battle that promises to shake up the foundations of Asgard. In round six, the deadly iron fist assassin, known as the hand, gave Godzilla the horrifying power of the beast! Kra-koom!!! Questions loom as Thor rises to protect his midguard from Godzilla’s wrath.
