In an announcement made at Star Trek.com, three new Issue 5 Star Trek Comic Limited series have been revealed by IDW. Star Trek: Red Shirt, Star Trek: A Strange New World – The Seed of Destruction and Star Trek: Voyager – Homecoming is expected to arrive later this year. So far, here’s what we know about the three miniseries so far:
New Star Trek comics for the upcoming years
First, it’s a red shirt. Art and written by Christopher Cantwell by Megan Levens and lettering by Jodie Troutman. The story follows a whole new crew of USS Warren. Set in the era of the original series, the title promises to capitalize on Dr. McCoy’s claim that “space is a disease and dangerous, wrapped in darkness and silence.” The series will begin in July 2025 (with several variant covers).
Cover the art of Mercer and Jordan.
Next we arrive is a strange new world: the seeds of destruction. The series is written by Robbie Thompson (who is also working on the fourth season of Paramount+’s television series), along with Art in lettering by Travis Mercer’s Art, JP Jordan’s Colors and Troutman. The series consists of a mission that promises to be extremely strange, with an away team consisting of Una Chin-Riley, Spock, La’an Noonien-Singh, Christine Chapel and “a new adorable robot sidekick named D6.” A strange new world – Seeds of Destruction are scheduled to be released in August 2025.
And in time for the show’s 30th anniversary, Voyager-Homecoming will be picked up with the USS Voyager crew shortly after returning to the Alpha Quadrant. This limited series is written by Art by Tilly & Susan Bridges (consulted in Prodigy Season 2) with art from Angel Hernandez. It is scheduled to arrive in September 2025.
