Kickstarter Campaign Wandering Planet Toys to Start Prisoner Deluxe Action Figures

In 2021, Wandering Planet Toys, an independent toy company founded by veteran animation writers Gavin Hiignight and Chris “Doc” Wyatt, launched its first Kickstarter campaign to create retro action figures officially approved based on the cult classic British television series The Prisoner. The campaign was a smash hit and then successfully launched a Kickstarter campaign, which included a second wave of prisoner action figures. This week, March 19th, marks the 97th birthday of prisoner creator and star Patrick McGauhan and appears to be fitting to exclusively announce details of wandering Planet’s Kickstarter campaign for prisoner deluxe action figures.

While the previous campaign was aimed at 4-inch retro-style action figures, the Wandering Planet is doing something else again to produce the first officially licensed 1:12 scale, completely clear, prisoner action figures.

The series was an instant hit with viewers at the time and re-watched by fans about the unnamed British intelligence agency that awakens to being trapped in an idyllic seaside village. In fact, rumors from last year swirled that the prisoner remake was the next project for Oscar-winning filmmaker Christopal Nolan. Although it was ultimately not true, it is evidence of the impact the original series had on pop culture decades later.

Official details below:

In 1967, the cult classic television series, Prisoners exploded on screens. The series quickly became a hit with viewers at the time, obsessively viewed by fans, about an agent of the unnamed British intelligence agency who found himself trapped in an idyllic seaside village, and quickly gained cult status. And while several collectibles have been released over the decades, prisoners didn’t receive a line of officially licensed action figures until they crowdfunded the first-ever action figures, including multiple versions of Patrick McGoohan’s No. 6, until they wandered through planetary toys. Leo McCarn, Mary Morris and Darren Nesbitt are number two. And even Barbara Yu Lin as a taxi driver. The incredible success of the first two prisoners crowdfunding campaign speaks of years of passion, with new fans turning to the classic series. Now, the Wandering Planet Toys are opening new ground once again to celebrate the series, following the first officially licensed 1:12 scale, completely clear, prisoner’s behavior figure.

The 6-inch, completely clear, collectable numbers based on Patrick McGohan and Leo McCarn’s unforgettable performance as number 6 and number 2, are the most detailed, positioned prisoner numbers to date, and will be available individually or as a pair. In addition to saving money, fans ordering the bundle will receive metal retro styles in prisoners’ lunch boxes. The lunchbox features brand new original art created specifically for this campaign.

In a statement in an official press release, Wandering Planet Toys co-founder Chris “Dock” Wyatt explained that prisoner deluxe action figures have been born due to fan demand.

“Since we released the first wave of retro-styled 4-inch action figures, prisoners fans have been sending us messages. When we received many requests, we were forced to respond. prisoners fans ask them, and they’re here!”

Gavin Highnight added:

“We’ve been carefully designing these deluxe characters and have been carefully designing prisoner figures for a while. We’re excited to finally bring 1/12 scale, TV-accurate, very clear figures to our residents’ fans… Can’t wait to put NO6 and NO12 on the shelf!”
