Amazing Spider-Man #68.Deaths Review

We are certainly nearing the end of “Spider-Man’s Eight Deaths.” Not only is Spider-Man dead, but Juggernaut takes over the main character as one of the last soldiers in the Site Truck against a new, invisible threat. Yes, Spider-Man is not even this Spider-Man comic. Is that a problem for longtime Spider-Man author Christos Gage?

Amazing Spider-Man #68.Deaths is by no means a bad comic, but it feels like a strange chapter in the Spider-Man story. Certainly, Juggernaut vs. Spider-Man is a historic battle, but the story feels like it stole the X-Men story into the series.

This issue is primarily a juggernaut compared to the X-Men, where most teams are owned. From afar, Beast and Magneto also appear, revealing what X-Men fans want.

Thankfully, Mark Buckingham’s art offers a classic feel to play in layout and groove arrangements. For example, there’s a cool double-page splash that depicts a groove that divides the punch from a juggernaut that skips the cyclops. Juggernaut is also depicted in a huge way that actually fills the panels and pages he is in.

The issue is also divided into its relationship with Cyttorak with Juggernaut. The power of Juggernaut is not usually explored, so it’s an interesting focus, but it feels like a deep comic that casual fans may not understand or be bored. I’m fine with this whole event that can lift up Juggernaut and evolve him, but again, it’s very strange and it’s in the arc of the Spider-Man story.

This is an overall more entertaining comic than Amazing Spider-Man #68, as it affects the strengths of X-Men and Juggernaut. It’s a well-built issue and will keep you entertained.

This issue may baffle traditional Spider-Man fans with its quirky narrative detour, but its fascinating art and solid structure make it worthwhile, if unconventional.

“Amazing Spider-Man #68.Deaths” is an interesting and strange departure

Amazing Spider-Man #68.deaths

This issue can baffle traditional Spider-Man fans with a quirky narrative detour, but its fascinating art and solid structure make it worthwhile if unconventional.

Solid and classic artwork with ingenious layouts and dynamic combat sequences

An interesting exploration of the power of the Juggernaut and his relationship with cyttorak

A well-structured question to engage readers

The heavy X-Men elements of the story feel out of place in Spider-Man Arc
