Acclaimed author Mark Wade has worked for various publishers during his celebratory career while writing some of the greatest comics of all time. However, he is undoubtedly associated with Superman and is considered the ultimate enthusiast of the character. Naturally, Waid is an integral part of the upcoming Summer of Superman initiative. In fact, today at Comics Pro ’25 DC, Waid has taken over the action comic series, with Skylar Patridge taking part in and making his debut as an artist in the DC ongoing series.

This is not Waid’s first rodeo on action comics. Early in the 80s’ career, Waid wrote the Action Comic Weekly series from #635-642. He returned to the flagship Superman book for “Phantoms” a few months ago.
The new creative team will begin running in Action Comic #1087 in June. This marks a new direction for the book as it shines a spotlight on Clark Kent’s early days as a superboy in Smallville, home to Kent Family Farm.
As the writer explained:
“I started a book with Clark as a 15-year-old boy and learned to become a superhero for the first time,” Wade said. “Learn to use your powers at that age, what is it like? What challenges are you facing? Skyler and I also have Smallville a little more up to date. It’s still It has a simple feeling, but the farm doesn’t look like that anymore.”

A new direction in action comic books has a similar approach to Batman/Superman: The World’s Best, another book written by Wade.
According to DC, the first story involves Young Clark visiting the Metropolis exposition tomorrow, when he may see Crypton’s last son making his public debut as a Superboy. ut? !
