The first few issues with Power Rangers Prime are setting up multiple plot threads that include Rangers’ status in a bold new world, and flipping through the script about what Rangers fans expect. Now, Melissa Flores and Michael YG have begun repaying the plot thread for Power Rangers Prime #4, and the outcome is definitely worth the wait.
First of all, Lauren finally transforms into a Power Ranger! But not her typical Samurai Ranger power, she became the new Red Ranger thanks to the magic of Rita Repulsa. Flores introduced a very interesting wrinkle here. Because Rita is usually trying to kill the Power Rangers. What happens if she is the reason for their existence? Flores also has not lost the gift for the character’s work. She has a big moment for almost everyone in this issue, whether it’s the other future Rangers who are Lauren (especially Jun and Valentina torn between helping Lauren and Eltarians). I’ll give it.
The character’s work is closely related to the intense battle scenes, and all YG goes outside. A special notice is Lauren’s new Red Ranger suit. It’s very similar to the Red Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, but boasts more armor and amazing weapons. But while the suits may be new, Ranger Action is something fans have come to know and love. Lauren first takes out the Eltarian guard and throws him first towards action. Then Rita uses magic to summon a giant Tyrannosaurus Rex Skeleton (it’s very fitting that he was given Lauren’s new Ranger Suit). And it is all given to bright, vibrant colors by Fabi Marquez.
boom! studio
The biggest attraction of the question (a poster worthy of the last page) is that it ultimately pits the VR trooper against the ranger. YG does some of his best jobs here and tests the trooper’s laser against Lauren’s new force. Flores also highlights the struggles that certain characters feel. Valentina calls out a trooper while dating leader Ryan, but is afraid of how she will treat her after Lauren arrests her.
In fact, if there’s a fundamental theme in Power Rangers Prime #4, it’s a choice. Normally, the Power Rangers are chosen, but this time the new Rangers make the choice to stand up to the Eltarians. It’s the biggest change Prime has made, but it’s the most welcome. I always feel that heroism is the choice, and choosing to do the right thing with the Ranger, even when it costs the Ranger, is the type of character work that keeps readers invested in comics.
Power Rangers Prime #4 still offers one of the best issues, providing excellent character work and action while paying off the plot thread. We’ve finally got the Rangers, so we can’t wait to see what Flores and YG bring to the table next and how they shake up the Rangers world.
“Power Rangers Prime” #4 is a way to make a payoff

YG depicts what may be the best battle scenes of the series.
The new ranger designs offer a futuristic design while approaching the past.
The gift for Flores’ character work is fully on display here. There are outstanding moments in bulk too!
These rangers choose to become rangers, and that one simple decision makes the story even richer.
I continue to make bold choices with Power Rangers Lore, but it definitely pays off.
