Marvel Comics has announced that Cavan Scott and Stefanonesi will be releasing a new five-island Gwenpool series in May. Called a darker and fatal version of the character, the series marks the Marvel comic debut of artist Stefano Nesi, known for his acclaimed recent work on Batman. The series is exactly the same, including Gwen Stacy’s grave last week.
Regarding his bold decision to revive Gwen, Scott said: To tear both the Gwenpool and the Spider-Man world? Yes, please! Gwen Stacey has returned from the grave more deadly than ever. Weapon-X-style ability? check. A killer put down line? You have it. This is not the Gwen you remember. But who is behind her miraculous resurrection? And what happened to the normally cautious presence of the original Gwenpur? Add Kate Bishop and Jeff the Land Shark to the mix and there’s my dream Marvel series! ”
So, what is Gwenpur?
Gwenpool is back and is even more dangerous than ever!
The lives of everyone’s favorite reality two-stitcher are changing. The grittier-like doppelganger brings her own brand of hyper-violent justice to NYC, which is plaguing the battle! Who is this dark Gwenpool? And what does she want from the amazing Spider-Man? Kate Bishop and Jeff the Land Shark guest stars in a comic series that will shock you with your core!
“I couldn’t seek a better partner than Art’s Stefano Nesi!” Scott continued. “The enormous violence has never been more fun.
