The boys’ love cartoon imprints are usually only announced three licenses a year, and often make each announcement more special. On Love Day, aka Valentine’s Day, Sublime revealed that they had given them a license to sleep in paper boats and trickster stories: Hu Yan Zhuan. Both series will be released in the final quarter of 2025.
Sleeping in a paper boat written and drawn by Teki Yatsuda follows the traumatized screenwriter. Kei Kiatahara is a well-known screenwriter and after everything died a tragic death, he decided to stop writing when he realized he was modeling the protagonist. Fearful and traumatized, he withdraws from society, sets his time, waiting for his own death to find him. One day, a stranger finds Kay, who has been broken into a ditch and beaten, and saves him. Upon awakening, Kay is immediately drawn to a stranger and discovers the fascinating urge to write about him.
Sleeping on a paper boat will be released on October 14th, 2025 and cost $12.99.
Trickster’s Tale: Hu Yan Zhuan is written and depicted by Hontoku. Sublime’s premise explains the forbidden relationship between half-Fox’s demon, half-human and his master. After losing his family when he was nothing more than a child, Faijin becomes a student of Sage Gachun and falls in love with him. However, due to the nature of the relationship between the master and the student, they cannot be together, and Feijing is constantly being shot down. However, Feijing discovers that his master carries his own dark past.
Trickster’s Tale: Hu Yan Zhuan was released on December 9th, 2025 and costs $12.99 on its website.
