The Goddam tragedy by Chris Condon (the ultimate Wolverine) and Sean Crunell (the cave tomb) came out of Oni Press in May. The 48-page horror western one-shot follows the journey of Eren Janson and her family in the hopes of finding something better in the wild during their trip to the west in the mid-1800s.

Ellen Jansson is here to set a straight-line record of the highly publicized and often sensed journeys that her family undertaken in 1846.

In search of a better life, Eren heads out on a dangerous path west with her mother Irena and father Leo. But when her father chooses to go through the mountains and take an untested shortcut, can their small family survive the elements, the wildlife, and each other? Or is their journey just another terrible tragedy?

The Goddam Tragedy features six covers from a group of talented artists: Kuruneru (Cover A), Tula Lotay (Cover B), Jacob Phillips (Cover C), Gennacha (Cover D), Oliver Dominguez (Cover E), Black A, White Cover of Black Cha Art (1:10).

“Awful! What else should I say elsewhere to explain this book?” author Chris Condon said in a press release. “Shaun Crunel’s work throughout the book is surprisingly gorgeous and I’m very fortunate to have an incredible lineup of artists on covers such as Jennacha, Tula Lottey, Jacob Phillips, and Oliver Dominguez. The book. This is a fierce, spooky one-shot story unlike any other story that you tend to read this year. Find the truth about what happened on the road to California in 1846. Don’t miss the tragedy of Goddam please.”

The terrible tragedy of ONI Press arrives at the comic bookstore on May 28, 2025. Oneshot is retailer at $6.99 USD, with the cut-off for the final order being May 5, 2025.
