It was a month-long flare for the comics industry, and IDW confirmed that there were a handful of layoffs. A statement was sent to Beat:

“Idw has made a difficult decision to reduce staff as part of a continuous effort to rationalize the operation. We thank the affected people, and they are in their future. I hope you are the best in your efforts.”

However, the IDW staff was much smaller, and only two staff members were fired in this round. It is said that IDW Entertainment, which is a department to supervise IDW’s media production, was effectively closed because the remaining employees were fired. IDW Publishing is another department of parent company IDW Media Holdings.

The strategy seemed to be working for a while, but after the Cult Hit’s Winona Professional season, the division became a conventional license section because IDW could not raise funds to raise funds.

IDW has performed several layoffs several times in the last two years, and installed Jonas on the CEO when the reorganization process was started.

Update: This story was updated to reflect that in total only two staff members were fired.
