The first volume of love on the horizon from Kodansha hit physical shelves and digital shelves earlier this month. This two -volume series is the first commercial BL of Yamashita as an artist. Publishers compare this series to some of the Furuya Nagisa works, such as my ultramarine sky and numerical calls.

YU has no memory of the night, and is filled with NAGI until he takes him home because he is a neighbor next door. They are members of the folk music club, and every time they are performed after drinking at night, others take care of Nagi with an apology smile. They rarely know that Nagi is secretly looking forward to the moment of this close class with his upper class.
And who do you expect to spend time with a person like him? YU is a social butterfly that is well constructed, very handsome, has a good feeling, and can fit in every environment he is participating in. Did the warm kindness extend him like an arrow to the chest with a striking gifts on a rainy day? However, this physical intimacy does not reduce Nagi’s anxiety, especially when listening to the history of Yu’s dating.

I would like to point out how beautiful the English version of the cover design is. I love how to maintain a panel for Abigail Blackman to compile the lead share moment. This effectively emphasizes the sliced aspects of the life of the story, but changes the translation of the Neon -Rean title. 。 It is also a beautiful font that emulates the original dynamic and handwritten atmosphere, and I am grateful for the space created for the central title. And the details of the small sun stand up on the horizon? Absolutely adorable.

The home, calm air signature wraps the love on the horizon completely. It depicts a beautiful line, a tidy background, a character design with a characteristic of the round side, and a relaxed atmosphere with a large emotional eye. As a person who first regards manga as a visual medium, there is a special place for me where visual narration is given priority over speech. This priority is not consistent with the overall volume, but in the second half, there is a moment when there is a page with zero spoken language. Yamashita Island chooses to communicate emotions through the layout of the panel and the body language method, and does it well.

This plot is very familiar to BL fans, and Yamashita clearly does not re -invent the wheels. Nagi is a dynamics overshinker, contrasting with a slightly airy and slightly air. He first doubts his “praise” to YU, but Nagi agrees that he is a romantic love and feels quite fast. The same realization hits YU late compared to Nagi, but thankfully, this series does not spend a lot of time and energy to get there. Instead, the remaining chapters are spent to explore the initial stages of the relationship.
In most cases, Love On the Horizo N is easy and flowing in its theme and execution. However, I was confused by the “habit” of NAGI, who sleeps secretly next to the yu. This series opens with Nagi secretly sneaking into the bed and sleeping next to the yu, using the drunk state of a young man, using what he does not remember the night before.
This is not drawn in an ominous tone, but Nagi does this at the expense of Yu’s happiness, but the artist should be repeated, but never returns to this case. 。 Eventually, it is touched once on the first page and sweeps under the rug. My criticism is not about the moral meaning of Nagi’s actions, but about its existence in the story if it does not fulfill its purpose. And it asks a question, why do you open the details not included in your whole job? More importantly, why are you introducing a character like Nagi on the linear side of TI disease and doing as dangerous things? I couldn’t understand this introduction, but considering the volume as a whole, it was a very small part of the first chapter.

If you put this plot point aside with the remaining volume aside, the first volume of love on the horizon is that two young men gather, tired and affection, sweet and warm, reality. It’s a story -I experience the butterflies that they feel in their stomach and make you crazy. I read this volume as a self -contained type, but it’s good to know more in their story. You can’t establish a sufficient relationship with a romance genre!
Therefore, Yamahashijima’s debut work will definitely appeal to Furuya Nagisa fans in terms of modest and spacious air that oozes out. If the design and fashion sense of the Pink Heart Jam character are working for you, you will find that love is fun in the artistic direction of the horizon. We recommend this title for readers looking for comfortable and attractive readings! Unfortunately, there is no release date yet. We also hope that Yamashita will dig deeper into future works and explore more aspects of human relationships!
