1989 Batman Comic Strip

As Bluesky grows as a social media platform, users have discovered some old Warhorses. For some reason, Scott Peterson, a Batman Bible of Denny O’Neill, has recently been posted from January 1989. Peterson has been a bat office onire assistant for many years, has an electronic copy of the Bible, and he got from the software long ago and was able to post it for everyone.

It is a wonderful document reflecting the person who wrote it and the person who supervised by him. O’Neill was one of the best Batman stories, one of the best comic editors so far, and generally one of our industries Titan. This is the opening:

Easy Batobibu: Note of Dark Night Detective

What is this

To put it simply, we believe that the current editors need to know that new writers and artists need to know the basic Batman story. Continuity always changes, but the backstory, props, locale, and major characters are covered with stones, at least until the next editor gets them. Therefore, it is necessary to check with one of the editorial staff about the current one, but the following is necessary to use myths to know about history and environment, and to use very flashy words. 。

Who is he

Bruce Wayne, the son of Mrs. Thomas Wayne. Age: early 30s. A great heir estimated to be about $ 500 million.

Wayne’s money is old money. My family has been in Gotam since colonial era. There is a large parcel with a prime downtown area belonging to real estate. The income from these alone will provide a handsome life to the blues, but he is also a private company specializing in the most advanced research of research, gaining profits from Wein Industries and Waitech.

Bruce is handsome, he is attractive, and he projects intelligence. But he doesn’t seem to be focused again. The person who personally lamented that he had never found himself was even wondering what his possibility was. It is known that he drifted adolescence and early masculinity around the world, audited university classes here and there, and sometimes registered in the semester without getting closer to some extent. He was a typical Dilletante, and the wise Gossamite felt still so. They are the only real talent to hire the appropriate people to manage his various companies.

He is not married. He was seen with dozens of attractive women, but he had no serious relationship. He supports the lack of a shortage, like him himself. He is assumed to have a fly occasionally -the phrase “One Night Stand” comes to mind, but his date does not tend to check or deny it. If they have compared their experience, they will always learn that the night with the blues is the same: dinner, show, social or charity, early vacation, and illness Promised to make a busy phone tomorrow, quick kissing on your cheeks, and then a quiet phone.

There are more things about the bat cave, support cast, and what you really need to know if you are sitting to write a bat story since 1989. (I want to see the art that suits the Bible, but you can provide your own favorite.)

Batman style guide by Jose Lewis Garcia Lopez

As Peterson pointed out, the first Tim Burton/Michael Keaton Batman movie was opened in 1989, and the characters were blasted into a jigist. The story of the movie and the modern Batman definitely changed a few years ago by Frank Miller’s dark night. It was a rapid reconstruction of the character that had existed for more than 40 years.

Today, Batman is pushing 90 -he debuted in 1939 -but as the absolute Batman succeeded, he is still popular and is still preparing a new version. As I mentioned many times here, the popular superhero is one of the longest serialized characters in the history of the recorded mankind. Other main competitions are comic strips. According to Wikipedia, these are the longest comic strips.

Katzenjan Merkids (1897-2006; 109 years old) Gasoline alley (1918 -Present) Do you believe Ripley! (1918 -Present) Bernie Google and Snuffer Smith (1919 -Present) Simble Theater/Popill (1919 -Present) Broned (1930 – Present) Dick Treasies (1931 – Present) 2000 ; 87) Little Orfan Annie (1924 –2010; 1986)

(I also need to mention the incredible running soap opera. The general hospital is still 61 years after debut. The British ON crown is even older, debut in 1960. I).

Alley OOP Comic Book

It’s not surprising that comics make up two of the 30 -year -old serialized storytelling. Don’t get older characters. Of course, everything around you change and die. As you may notice that Alley OOP is still running, you may not know what Alley OOP is. The strip was created by VT Hamlin. VThamlin has been drawing for 40 years. Today, Joey Allison Sayers and artist Jonathan Lemon have released a strip running in 600 newspapers, according to what they are told. I find the concept that there are still 600 newspapers to run a more surprising alley than the strip is still around.

But return to the Bible. The Bible in the series was usually created for the animation series, but was sometimes created for comics. Like Denny’s example, they were a style guide to layout the rules of the character’s world, how the characters interacted, their background, and what they need to know to write. The best Bible I have read so far was the Bible created for Gargoyless’s GRGOYLES’s GRGOYLES’s GRGOYLES’s GRGOYLES GREG Weisman’s and the Milestone UNIVERSE at the time. Both were full of details, imagination, top flight world building.

Of course, Denny’s idea about Batman in 1989 is very outdated. The rise of important characters, such as the 36th story and Damian Wayne (introduced as non -canon in 1987 but introduced in the foreground by Grant Morrison), will adapt and evolve. Should be done.

Nevertheless, the life of these characters is very tied in the manga book format itself. And the format has an ups and downs and is now standing at the crossroads. The manga book appeared in 2024 (YAY ASPOLUTE AND ULTIMATE!), But is now facing the real challenge again with the imminent parting of diamonds. And it is a real task to get new readers for these many years of story. It shows various stunts of Marvel and DC for the past 25 years, restarting and brand brands.

I want to see American comics come up with something like a manga. One creator comes up with the story and draws for the next 10/20/30 or 40 years. For example, one -piece debuted in 1997, and since then, EIICHIRO ODA has drawn 110 volumes and has evolved on the way. However, the story is approaching the end, and the ODA is taking a few breaks from a tough schedule.

It is difficult to imagine an American manga artist to achieve this. The main reasons are simple. I just don’t pay enough. The manga artist manga artists were able to keep talking about the story because newspaper strips were very popular at the time and very profitable. Jim Davis is worth about $ 800 million today for the heyday of Garfield, its continuous license and merchandising. Popular comic strip artists are millions of millions of millions a day or multiple millions of millions a day, and it is a pretty good job to sit down to draw four panels a day and get a lot of money. The most popular manga in Japan is also fully compensated. ODA earns $ 23 million a year since his creation. With this kind of money, you can hire an assistant and form a studio to enable such a large amount of work. (I do not enter the side of the sweat shop in this system. That is not a great thing, but it is how to make sausages.)

American manga book creators do not have the same payment. I don’t know what the longest manga book is, but I don’t think it’s a financial difficulty in Stan Sakai’s rabbit rabbit and Ericlasen’s sabege dragon, but neither is financially struggling. But soon the best paid entertainer.

Another reason that American manga does not actually have a way to achieve results is that comics are high from a single story from the ideas of recognized characters that comics visit every day, weekly or one month. It means that you have to concept. It’s partially a big lie -the story must be optimized for media adaptation -but creators don’t want to be tied to one creature for a long time. At least in the printed manga. There are many web comics that have been around for a long time, but that’s a kind of other story.

Anyway, read the Bible of Dennie O’Neille’s bat. It’s like an amber butterfly. We will look at one of the great reading materials, a glimpse of one of the best things so far, and one of the best comic characters in history.

Batman comic strip in 1944, you may not believe it.
