Apple says that 68 % of all iPhones are running iOS 18

Apple posted an iOS 18 adoption rate on Friday. This is slightly different from the iOS 17 value one year ago. The company states that iOS 18 has been installed at 68 % of all iPhones (as of January 21) and 76 % of models for the past four years.

A year ago, 66 % of all iPhones executed iOS 17, which increased this year by 2 % of iOS 18. Another statistics was the same as today’s data. 76 % of the iPhone in the past four years has run iOS 17 in January 2024.

The owner of the iPad does not dramatically move the needle. According to Apple, 53 % of all iPads are running iPados 18 (the same as iPados 17 a year ago). 63 % of tablets in the past four years have executed iPados 18. This has exceeded 61 % of the last four years of devices running iPados 17 earlier last year.

Does the minor boost come from Apple Intelligence, which plead for some curious recruiters? Unfortunately, the company is a mother about the number of people who chose a suite of the generated AI function.

Anyway, Apple wants to grow the adoption of Apple Intelligence. In the latest iOS 18.3 beta version, Apple enables AI function by default while onboarding. (You can still opt -out, but you need to delve into the settings to do so.) In the previous version, it was an opt -in function that had to be explicitly agreed during the setup. The software may arrive early next week.
