PANIC ENTERTAINMENT announces June release date and reveals SAVAGER #1 cover by Tehani Farr
LOS ANGELES, CA — January 23, 2024 — Today, PANICK Entertainment LLC is unveiling and unveiling the official retail cover art for SAVAGER #1, set to hit stores in summer 2025, drawn by innovative cover artist Tehani Farr. Announcement (Credit).
Founded by a team of comics and entertainment industry veterans, PANICK Entertainment is poised to reinvent genre storytelling with bold, original content and an unflinching approach to storytelling. Written by Dirk Blackman (Credit) and Shannon Eric Denton (Monster Forge, Kingdom Riders) and illustrated by Cuber Ball (Vampirella, Elvira), SAVAGER is a sequel to PANICK’s debut in comic shops nationwide this summer. It is one of three previously announced launch titles from Slate.
Riley Phillips is a savager in name only. Once human warriors, they are now suffering hosts fighting parasites within their bodies. When he encounters the last remaining humans, he must literally confront his inner demons and reckon with the horrors of his past to protect their future. As terrifying creatures close in, Savager fights to save the remnants of humanity, thought to be extinct, from irreversible final extinction.
Cover artist Farr said he was inspired by the passionate pitch from PANICK’s editorial team and the book’s creators. I’m a big reader of Lovecraft and many horror authors, and Dirk and Shannon’s idea for this story was so fascinating and different that I wanted to know more from the beginning. ”
Farr elaborates on his unconventional creative process: “As is always the case with my work, this is the initial burst of ideas that creates the most powerful concepts, the instant inspiration for all the explanations, ideas, and concepts we have been talking about. Suddenly it made sense and I had a vision. When I explained it to the team, they all looked at me. I was skeptical, but of course they couldn’t see it as clearly as I could. So that same afternoon, I saw a lot of rough lines and a lot of color, a lot of flesh red, a lot of jungle, reeds. I sketched an abandoned building, a destroyed city that reminded me of the past. I sent it the next day and it was approved right away. That’s my favorite morning!”
Co-writer and creator Blackman was fascinated by the process and pleased with the result, saying, “It was a dream to work with an artist as talented as Tehani. We discussed this project thoroughly. The main character is to avenge the death of all humans on Earth, a future world where there is no animal life other than the creatures that destroyed the Earth, revenge and rebirth. That’s clearly something that resonated with her, and the cover speaks for itself.” Co-creator and screenwriter Denton said, “Tehani understood the dichotomy presented. on the cover, promising readers a violent hero with secret bloody action and monsters in a post-human world of unexpected beauty.”
Mark McCann, Chief Creative Officer at PANICK, said: I wanted someone who could blend the beauty of an alien Earth with the cruelty of the characters’ situations, and she did a great job conveying that. ”
SAVAGER #1 is expected to be in stores in the summer of 2025, with a specific release date to be announced thereafter. A variant edition of SAVAGER #1 featuring cover art by Shane Pierce (credit) is available this fall as part of PANICK’s first crowdfunding campaign. In addition to SAVAGER, PANICK will debut the titles TAMA and BLACK DIAMOND this summer, also via Direct Market.
50 years after the invasion – Earth is a dead world, and all organic life is eaten by ravenous space parasites. Inhabiting a barely recognizable shell of Earth’s former life forms, these remnants fight for supremacy in a terrifying post-apocalyptic world.

Let’s protect the last “thought to be extinct” humans from new and permanent extinction!
