Heavy Metal Magazine is coming back in a big way, as the recently revived comic book magazine will be available in comic shop retail stores in 2025.
In 1977, four arthouse visionaries decided to make science fiction, fantasy, and horror a home in pop culture. It took over 45 years, but while heavy metal has always been here in the zeitgeist, other brands have tried to claim our birthright. And now we’ve come to reclaim the genre’s rightful throne. Dive into the world of heavy metal past, present and future. It boldly charts the directions we can take to expand our minds and push the boundaries of pop culture.
In a press release, the editorial team behind Heavy Metal #1, Frank Forte, Dave Kelly, and Chris Thompson, will be working on a new book in which Sergio Gerasci revives Guido Crepax’s Valentina. This book is licensed by Crepax Estate. Michael Conrad (‘Batgirls’) will write a story called ‘Millstone’ with Elias Kriazis (‘Collapser’) and Simon Bowland.
