Marvel Comics has revealed that Chris Giarrusso is bringing his beloved style to a new Variant Covers program this April! There are a total of 18 wraparound covers and will be released sometime in April.
“The original cover of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition completely captivated me as a burgeoning comics reader in the ’80s,” Giarrusso said. “I still remember my brother pointing out the two problems side by side and saying, ‘See, they’re all connected.’ That was shocking to my 10-year-old brain. Marvel told me… John Byrne (1-11), Ron Frenz (12), Keith Pollard (13-15) Enthusiasm outweighed intimidation when I was given the opportunity to mini-marvelize this classic work drawn by the child in me.It was as much fun as it was difficult to draw. I couldn’t be more excited!”

The Harvey Award-nominated artist, known for his playful depictions of Marvel characters in titles such as Mini-Marvel, has beautifully recreated the iconic cover of the original edition of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe. Featuring Marvel’s hottest titles today, these 15 Marvel Universe Connecting Covers capture the excitement and grandeur of this legendary, character-filled work.
