Will things get even cooler after the explosive events of the first issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto?! Well, the only thing better than ninjas fighting each other is ninjas uniting together Only. In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto #2, writer Caleb Gollinger and artist Hendry Prasetia deliver an amazing issue filled with all the details of a truly memorable story. These two worlds have never collided before, but this issue will leave many readers wondering, “Why haven’t they collided before?” That’s because each universe supports each other’s worlds well.

One of the things I’ve really come to appreciate about this series is how Caleb Gollinger is able to seamlessly weave these two worlds together. Not only does he mesh two vastly different stories, he does so while taking two different subgenres of literature and blending them into something everyone can enjoy. This is further demonstrated through common crossover tools. Have characters from each universe build trusting relationships with similarly written characters from other universes. Sometimes books overtly force you to do this, but this book is very practical. It sticks to the obvious, Kakashi Hatake and Master Splinter, without compromising the fun of the story by dragging out the relationships between each character. The two have an unexpected connection that works really well together.

It’s in these small moments that Golinger creates a common bond between his characters that gives the film its weight. These characters have never met and probably never will, but their connection not only helps readers who are unfamiliar with the characters empathize with them, but also adds weight to the story. It also gives purpose.
That being said, the story is heightened by its stunning artwork. Artist Hendry Prasetia and colorist Raul Angulo might be one of my favorite teams in all of comics right now. This pair complements each other perfectly, bringing the characters of Naruto to life while giving the Turtles great moments of depth and providing a great contrast of colors. One of the best moments in this is when the Turtles’ origins are briefly told. The shadows and sharpness of any color work well, complementing each other and transporting the reader back in time. Overall, the story is very intricately drawn, which helps make the story more appealing.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto might be one of my favorite manga series right now. In addition to being extremely friendly to new readers, it brings together the two mediums of graphic novels (manga and comics) into one story, honoring the legacy of two long-standing staples in their respective industries. The Turtles are as funny, edgy, and adventurous as you’d expect, but Team Naruto continues to live up to expectations for those who’ve only seen a few episodes or read the first few volumes of the series . . Not only that, but the threats posed help bring these two worlds together in exciting ways.

Everyone works well together, and the dynamics of each character further enhance the connection between the two worlds.
The art is visually stunning and honors the legacy of both Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Naruto very well.
The story is a little simpler
