Printopia, the latest graphic novel from publisher Cosmic Lion Productions and Bob Fingerman (Minimum Wage), is now in comic book stores, and The Beat has an exclusive look at the story.
Printopia, Fingerman’s first original graphic novel in more than a decade, tells the story of Darla Vogel, who works at a well-known print shop serving those seeking to create comics, zines, and other physical media. Although Darla appears to be negative about storytelling, she is secretly planning her own story, and a graphic novel will follow her efforts.
“I have long been a fan of Bob’s work, so I was surprised and excited when the opportunity to publish Printopia arose,” says Eli Schwab, publisher of Cosmic Lion. We’re so glad he decided to take a chance on us, and it was only natural for us to return the favor by putting him in the spotlight again this month. Printopia is one of the best things Bob has ever done. I’m not just saying that because I’m a publisher.

“Bob Fingerman’s first all-new graphic novel in more than a decade, Printopia is a smart, satirical story set in New York City, featuring quirky creators who unleash their visions of the world. Part ghost world, part acid trip, experience what Simpsons creator Matt Groening described as “brilliantly written, masterfully drawn and outrageously funny.”

“I’m far from a new kid in town, but Eli was a breath of fresh air with enthusiasm. His lack of lethargy was contagious,” added Bob Fingerman. “So when Printopia needed a home, after a great meeting I found out that Printopia had found a home at Cosmic Lion and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. This is by far the best looking book of my career, it’s big and beautiful and I’m so proud of it!
Printopia is available to order now at your local comic book shop. The hardcover version is 104 pages and can be checked in for $25.00 USD. For more information about Cosmic Lion Productions and its books, please visit the publisher’s website.
