Samsung is kicking off 2025 with a new lineup of AI-enhanced TVs. At CES 2025, Samsung announced the Neo QLED 4K QN90F, QN80F, and QN70F, in addition to the Neo QLED 8K QN990F and QN900F. The TV is equipped with glare-free technology and a set of AI features powered by Samsung Vision AI.
Neo QLED 8K QN990F is Samsung’s top-of-the-line model with an ultra-slim, minimal footprint and NQ8 AI Gen3 processor. Its AI features include unique 8K upscaling, frame-by-frame HDR remastering, adaptive sound, color boosting, and an AI mode that automatically optimizes image and sound based on on-screen content. These represent updates to Samsung AI’s existing efforts.
In keeping with its minimalist aesthetic, Samsung is also shipping a Wireless One Connect Box for the QN990F, which allows users to keep their TV space wireless. It’s similar to LG’s Zero Connect Box, and is a clever little organization device. Samsung claims that the Wireless One Connect Box can operate at distances of up to 10 meters, even if there are obstacles in the transmission path.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s QLED 4K product line features an NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, 4K AI Upscaling Pro, improved image quality, and 165Hz refresh rate. The QN80F has a 100-inch option and the QN90F has a 115-inch option.
Samsung’s AI ambitions cover all TVs in 2025, with Vision AI delivering new personalization and optimization features across the board. Click to Search identifies people, places, and products on your screen and provides relevant information about them in real time. For example, identify actors in a scene, specific clothing, or locations shown. Similarly, Samsung Food’s new feature can also identify larvae on your TV and provide you with relevant recipes. The feature can also analyze the contents of your connected Samsung refrigerator to create a specific shopping list, or prompt you to order groceries or takeout from your TV using third-party apps.
Samsung AI Home Security turns your TV into your home surveillance hub. Leverage your Samsung TV’s built-in microphone and connected camera to detect unusual sounds and movements. It then delivers alerts directly to your phone or TV. Live Translate provides real-time subtitle translation, and Generative Wallpaper allows users to create dynamic, personalized art canvases.
In the OLED field, Samsung has announced the S95F, S90F, and S85F. The flagship of the line, the S95F features an NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, improved glare-free technology, 165Hz variable refresh rate, and a brighter display than ever before.
There’s also a special TV called The Frame Pro, and I’ll talk about its new features in a separate article.
As usual, Samsung plans to reveal details about the pricing and availability of its new hardware during CES 2025.
