It’s hard to find a company entering 2024 better than NVIDIA. Despite some volatility in recent weeks, the semiconductor giant’s stock ended last year up 178%, and its market capitalization exceeds $3.3 trillion (with a T), currently second only to Apple. It ranks second. That’s thanks to the fact that the ongoing AI revolution is primarily powered by NVIDIA processors. NVIDIA processors are making billions of dollars in hardware profits even though customers are still losing money.
So what will founder and CEO Jensen Huang do for Encore? Great question, and we don’t have to wait long for the answer. Huang will open CES 2025 in Las Vegas with the first keynote address. He will take to the stage at Mandalay Bay on Monday, January 8th at 9:30pm ET. You can watch his remarks live here.
What to expect from NVIDIA’s CES 2025 press conference
In addition to a number of AI-focused partnerships and services, NVIDIA made a series of announcements for PC gamers at the CES 2024 press conference, including new RTX 40 Super GPU cards and upgrades to its GeForce Now game streaming platform.
Look out for the inevitable sequel in 2025. For starters, there are rumors of a super-fast RTX 5090. Of course, Wall Street will be paying closer attention to any details Huang reveals about the state of NVIDIA’s AI hardware. We’re likely to hear more news about the company’s Blackwell AI chips, which should first hit the market in late 2024, with high-volume shipments starting this year.
