Samsung has announced that the US launch of its new smartphone and fitness tracker is pending. Both the Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy Fit3 are modest devices that are almost perfect for the budget conscious. These gadgets will be available for purchase in the US on January 9th, after being available in other parts of the world several months ago.
The Galaxy A16 5G is an improvement over its predecessor in almost every way. This is a very good thing, as the Galaxy A15 5G has easily made it to the list of most affordable Android smartphones. The A16 has a slightly larger screen, but a thinner design and slimmer bezels.
This 6.7-inch FHD Super AMOLED display boasts 800 nits of peak brightness and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by an Exynos 1330 processor, a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, and up to 8GB of RAM. Customers can also choose up to 256 GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards.
As with many modern smartphones, the camera is the star here. There is a 50MP rear camera, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro lens, and 13MP front camera. That’s a pretty good setup for a price starting at just $200. A16 5G is available in black and light gray.

The Galaxy Fit3 is a pretty bare-bones health tracker that’s been described as “the perfect entry point for anyone looking to start their health journey.” It offers some great features such as fall detection and sleep tracking. It also monitors blood oxygen levels, which not many trackers in this price range do.
Battery life is long at 13 days, and the IP68 rating means it can survive submersion in water, as long as you don’t put it too deep. This tracker works with the Samsung Health app and gives you access to 100 different workouts. The Fit3 costs $60 and comes in several colors, including grey, silver, and gold. These colors apply to both the band and the tracker itself.
