LG just announced its latest microwave oven ahead of CES 2025. The LG Signature model features a 27-inch FHD display. You can finally watch it for 90 seconds until the popcorn pops. Never be without a screen!
It’s a touchscreen display that’s been described as an “immersive entertainment experience in your kitchen.” The microwave can also connect to Wi-Fi to stream content and has built-in speakers. We don’t know what OS it will run on or if it will have access to all the streaming platforms out there. Traditional LG smart TVs run webOS, so the same is probably true here.
The company has also remained silent on whether the screen is ad-supported. Putting a ton of advertising in your kitchen sounds like something executives in boardrooms would drool over. LG already runs full-screen ads on many of its idle TVs.
The touchscreen is integrated with LG’s ThinQ smart home dashboard and can control compatible Matter and Thread devices. It can also be paired with the company’s induction range ovens to display cooking progress, “so you don’t have to bend over and check the oven manually.” What a disaster it all stoops.
LG hasn’t revealed the price or availability of this sleek new appliance. We’ll likely know more when CES 2025 begins in earnest on January 7th. We’ll be at the venue and reporting back on what it’s like to stand in front of a microwave and watch Arcane.

The company is currently obsessed with screens. The company also announced a new refrigerator equipped with an organic EL display and a washer/dryer equipped with an LCD display. I’m all for more entertainment options, but what if the display breaks? Buttons and knobs seem easier to repair or replace than giant touchscreens.
