Steam Replay is Valve’s Spotify Wrapped version of games played through Steam, available now. Valve has been offering year-end presentations since 2022, which highlight how time-consuming most games have become (or how interesting a single game is) over the past two years. It’s going to be pretty revealing.
You can access data dumps directly through the Steam app, Steam Deck, or the web. In 2024, Valve tracked the number of games and demos you played, the number of achievements you unlocked, your longest game streak, and the games you spent the majority of your time playing. The company also shared details about how the median Steam user plays, collecting data on how much time they spend playing on Steam Deck and what genres they tend to prefer. For example, the median Steam user has played just four games this year and unlocked 13 achievements.

Based on my replays, the majority of my time on Steam this year was spent playing 1000xRESIST, Arco, Animal Well, and Balatro. I’ve basically treated my Steam deck like a console from the moment I bought it, so in 2024 I’ve spent 100% of my time using Steam here. I’m sure this is unusual for the average user, but this is the only thing that really surprised me. It was discovered by looking into Valve’s data.
If you find something interesting in a Steam replay, Valve has made it easy to publish the replay and share it with your friends. If you’re particularly proud of how much you accomplished in 2024, you can also attach a summary of your stats directly to your Steam profile.
