IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is having a strong year with record sales and will soon begin its second story with issue #6. Joining series writer Jason Aaron is Juan Ferreira, who will draw six issues of the series.

So, what is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #6 about?

Superstar artist Juan Ferreira (Batman & Robin, Green Arrow) debuts as TMNT’s new continuity artist. The Turtles are reunited and fight each other violently while on the run. Traveling through New York City, once their home but now a hostile territory, the four brothers try to put things back to normal, but Donatello remains deeply scarred after his captivity. Will the four brothers be able to come together? Or will they be at the mercy of the Foot family?

Manga critics knew in advance about this issue, scheduled to launch on January 29th (December 9th for FOC), and it’s clear that it’s a great jumping-on issue. I was one of those lucky reviewers and had this to say about the issue:

TMNT #6 is nothing short of amazing. Just read the advance copy and you’ll see that Huang packs punch, dynamic art, and emotion into every page. @jason-aaron.bsky.social perfectly captures the complexity of siblings arguing in chaotic times. Great points (email protected)

But don’t just take my opinion with a grain of salt, read the reactions of a number of manga critics below. Comics criticism is an important field, but one that is often neglected. Please consider following and supporting these great reviewers.

I had a chance to watch #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles 6 in advance thanks to @idwpublishing.bsky.social – @jason-aaron.bsky.social not only continues to publish emotionally resonant TMNT stories, but Juan Ferrerya’s It looks great thanks to you. Pre-order on Monday!

I had a chance to read @idwpublishing.bsky.social TMNT #6 before Monday’s FOC, and in a shocking twist, this title continues to be great with every issue. The protagonists are in real danger, and Juan Ferreira’s art is a driving force throughout this world. It’s great content, don’t miss it.

I just finished reading the advance edition of TMNT 6. Truly amazing! Juan Ferreira’s art debut is a must-see. wonderful. If you aren’t following Jason Aaron and @idwpublishing.bsky.social’s TMNT run, you need to fix that now. Issue 6 FOC is Monday 12/9.
