A new five-issue series, The Thing #1, hits comic shops on March 5th. Written by Tony Freaks with art by Leonard Kirk, this solo series follows Ben as he leaves the Fantastic Four to unravel a criminal conspiracy with mysterious connections to his childhood on Yancey Street. It will be. The Thing last had a solo series in 2021.

“What I love about Ben Grimm is that he’s just a normal, hard-working guy who just happens to have superpowers,” Freaks said. “He’s Jack Kirby, and he’s not easily impressed by all the outlandish, cosmic things that are happening around him all the time.

“It’s been 10 years since I starred in Fantastic Four, and I’m thrilled to be working on this series alongside everyone’s favorite orange character and the epitome of heroism, Ben Grimm. “I’m doing it,” Kirk said. “The villains he faces range from the not-so-serious to the completely iconic, and I’m really looking forward to portraying them all. The first issue was already a fun romp, so I hope the rest I think you’ll also like this issue.
