Apple just released its first M4-powered Mac, but the MacBook Air doesn’t yet have the latest chip. The 13-inch MBA’s combination of power and portability makes it a strong choice, and we gave it a 90 in our review. It offers fast performance and has a great display. The design is sleek and sturdy, and the sound is great thanks to the quad speaker array. I also like the trackpad and keyboard, but upgrading to Wi-Fi 6E connectivity is definitely a plus.

Our main quibble is that the USB-C port is on the same side as the one for the charger. It would be nice to have at least one USB-C on the right side. But that’s a minor gripe on an otherwise great laptop.
