iPhone users who want a smartwatch experience without breaking the bank have a great option in the Apple Watch SE, and thanks to Black Friday sales, the wearable is now cheaper than ever. Apple Watch SE has been reduced to $169 on Amazon. This is a 32% or $80 discount.
This is a new record lowest price for the 40mm GPS version. However, the difference was only $1, which was the lowest ever. The wearable was sold for $170 during the Prime Day event in October. The Apple Watch SE is a good choice for iPhone users who haven’t yet joined the smartwatch ecosystem or are perhaps clinging to a much older Apple Watch but don’t need a flagship model. The second-generation Apple Watch SE has dropped to its lowest price yet. The 40mm GPS (i.e. no LTE connectivity) model is now down to $169.

The 2nd Generation Apple Watch SE is our pick for the most affordable Apple Watch, scoring 89 points in our 2022 review. It has the same chipset as the Apple Watch Ultra and Series 8, so if you’re using it from a Series 6 or earlier model, for example, it should feel faster.
The SE shares some features with the flagship Apple Watch, but not all. It supports collision detection, heart rate monitoring, emergency calling, and is water resistant to 50 meters. I felt that the screen was easy to see even in strong sunlight. Fitness tracking is accurate (this is very important!). Perhaps most importantly, the Apple Watch SE is light and easy to wear.
Ion-X glass isn’t as tough as the sapphire crystal in recent Apple Watch models, so you’ll need to be extra careful when handling it. Other features present in other Apple Watch devices but missing here include an always-on display, blood oxygen monitoring, and a temperature sensor. The very useful double tap feature is also not available here.
We think this is a good price for the second-generation Apple Watch SE, but it’s worth bearing in mind that new models may arrive in the coming months. Apple is reportedly working on an Apple Watch SE with a plastic case to lower the price and allow for bolder color options. However, it is unlikely that Apple will introduce this model before next year.
