Conquest 2099 #3 depicts an all-out galactic war between Dracula and the spider-like alien conqueror Araneon. Desperate to persuade Dracula to end the conflict, Silver Surfer 2099 confronts Dracula on the planet Arzon, and Dracula listens to Surfer’s talk about peace for approximately 0.003 seconds before lunging at Surfer. The skirmish between the two fighting on both the space side and the planet side is thrilling. Silver Surfer 2099 is ferocious and has none of the calm, zen demeanor of the original Surfer, Norrin Rudd. He’s not afraid to wield the Power Cosmic like a hammer, but Dracula does what he can. There’s a lot more going on with this issue, so you might want to check your pulse while reading this book.
I’m loving this miniseries so far. It’s a brilliantly unapologetic space opera reminiscent of Star Wars, with giant space destroyers warping across the galaxy and fighting in the skies and on exotic worlds. What makes this book even better is that it delves deep into Marvel’s cosmic lore, and beneath Dracula lies some of Marvel’s most legendary characters, including the Skrulls, the Sakarians, the Shi’ite female warriors, and the Badoons. There are four war captains representing an alien race. soldier. They are all, like Dracula, exiled from their world and personally converted by Dracula himself, starting new lives as blood-sucking vampires.
The heroes of 2099, Spider-Man 2099, 2099 Cyclops, Phoenix, the new Spider-Woman, and Logan (now the last Nova!) team up to chase Dracula across the galaxy. A great combination of heroes and personalities, Logan is his usual grumpy, pessimistic self, and the 2099 version of Phoenix is always ready to fight, wielding a flaming sword to strike a deadly blow. It reminds me of a more impatient version of Moondragon who doesn’t object to that. . It’s hilarious to see 2099’s Cyclops constantly having to keep her from killing everyone. Much like Scott Summers, the 2099 version of Cyclops is the perfect diplomat, trying to remain calm and maintain peace in all situations.

Ibraim Roberson and Jose Luis’ art is reminiscent of classic artists like Keith Pollard and Dan Jurgens. Their art is crisp, with characters, spaceships, and interstellar backgrounds all in great detail. Andrew Dalhouse’s colors make the art pop on another level. It was a lot of fun to watch Spider-Man and the other heroes use portals to travel through the world, engulfed in a red-purple glow as they warped from one place to another. And it made this book feel incredibly cinematic.
One of the splash pages is particularly spectacular, showing Dracula’s war captain fighting Alanion soldiers (and their allies) in space as Dracula’s giant spaceship exchanges laser fire with Alanion battleships. . Everything feels wonderful and grand.
The art, combined with Steve Orlando’s plot twists, some fiery action, and great character work, makes this issue (and the entire miniseries so far) feel like a great MCU movie. Ta. In fact, I’d love to see Disney/Marvel turn this story into a movie someday, but I’d rather go the Deadpool route and give the movie a solid R rating due to the blood and fierce battles throughout. will need to give.
I never expected Dracula to thrive in the trappings of sci-fi, but he fits the setting perfectly, with a brutal Araneon and his warlords (Hulk-like Spidercide) having almost everything taken away from them. , even became a sympathetic character. Dracula has always been a character of deep pathos, a man who continually experiences loss due to being cursed with eternal life. The death of his daughter Lilith in the last issue was particularly heartbreaking, and you can feel the weight of his grief tearing Araneon’s army apart.
We look forward to the inevitable showdown between Dracula and Spidercide, which is expected to be an eternal battle. If you haven’t been following this miniseries yet, run through it now and buy the last two issues before picking up this one. You don’t want to disappoint Dracula, right?

Conquest 2099 #3 is an epic space opera and incredibly fun, as Dracula races around the world in a giant spaceship and a motley band of 2099 heroes race across the galaxy to stop him. It is drawn. If you haven’t read this miniseries, you’re missing out.
This book is epic and thrilling, like watching a truly great Star Wars or MCU movie.
Dracula is written as a complex character, a man who has experienced too many tragedies in his centuries-long life.
The character designs are top-notch, including Logan’s new Nova persona and 2099’s Spider-Woman.
I love the interactions between the heroes of 2099.
Araneon’s leader, Spidercide, is as visually stunning as the other characters in this book, but he feels a little one-dimensional at times.
