Kidpool makes the jump from MCU to comics, teams up with Spider-Boy

When the Deadpool Corps, Deadpool’s multi-world team, was introduced, its members included Kidpool, a child version of everyone’s favorite Merc with a Mouth. The character, set several years later, made the jump from the comics to the big screen in this summer’s Deadpool & Wolverine, but this time she’s portrayed as a young girl, played by Ryan Reynolds’ 7-year-old daughter Ines.

Today, Marvel announced that the movie version of Kidpool will make his comics debut in a special Kidpool & Spider-Boy one-shot comic by writer Christopher Yost and artist Nathan Stockman.

This announcement shouldn’t come as a complete surprise, as Marvel is used to matching characters more closely with their cinematic portrayals.

Details are below.

Over the summer, Deadpool and Wolverine introduced fans to Deadpool’s legion of mutants, but one who stood out from the crowd was Kidpool. This December, the breakout star will make his first appearance in the world of Marvel Comics in KIDPOOL & SPIDER-BOY #1, a one-shot from superstar author Christopher Yost, artist Nathan Stockman, and more.

This is the historic first meeting as Kidpool, your new favorite foul-mouthed young man, teams up with one of the biggest debut characters in recent memory, Spider-Boy! Adolescent Arachnid… Can a murderous middle school student be prevented from causing a resurgence of the Comics Code? Not likely! But Bayley is up to the challenge! And is this all-new Kidpool the very same one from the multiverse-shaking movie? When it comes to the Merc with a Mouth, nothing is off-limits.

Check out the Humberto Ramos cover and the new cover by Paco Medina and Todd Nauck. Pre-order KIDPOOL & SPIDER-BOY #1 at your local comic shop now!
