The ghosts of Sparta are rejoicing. You can now think peacefully without your wise son reminding you of your slowness. The latest patch for God of War Ragnarok on PS5 introduces options first seen on the PC version to soften the boy’s over-the-top and one-sided hints as Kratos ponders the game’s many puzzles. Added. Please tuck your socks in, Atreus.
Game version 06.00 for PlayStation 5 adds the “Reduce Puzzle Hints” feature. Atreus isn’t the only overly helpful companion in this title, but he is Kratos’ most frequent companion in the award-winning game, and therefore the most notorious culprit. Enabling this option will pipe all of your partner’s excess hints throughout the game. This is a feature players wanted when Ragnarok came out two years ago.
The update also includes enhancements for PS5 Pro, including a new mode that enables “Priority Quality” while still running at a smooth 60fps. The patch allows owners of the new console to unlock framerates when running on variable refresh rate monitors, and boosts Favor Performance mode to match the PS5 Pro’s enhanced specs. Finally, we’re adding support for AI-powered PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution as an upscaling option.
The update also adds new accessibility options to both tiers of PS5, including audio descriptions of all the game’s cinematic scenes. You’ll also find needed bug fixes, such as remedies for when blocks get lost in Frey’s camp store (fools) and issues related to pattern creation.
